The Sharq SPS234 is a SCSI-based high performance server. The SCSI I/O subsystem provides sustained I/O capability for heavily utilized applications. The SPS234 supports up to two Intel® Xeon® processors to 2.6GHz and up to 12GB of high-performance ECC SDRAM.

Support for up to six internal SCSI drives, hot-swappable with the optional hardware RAID controller, provides excellent data storage capacity - up to 432GB in total. Built-in components include an 8MB ATI RAGE-XL graphics controller, 2 (two) Intel® Pro/1000+ Gigabit Ethernet ports and a dual channel Ultra-160 SCSI controller.

With three free PCI expansion slots to compliment the already wide array of embedded components, customers can upgrade to gigabit Ethernet, Fibre Channel and SCSI RAID. Other high-speed specialist networking components such as Myrinet are also supported.

Availability - time is money. So when your servers are down, you are losing money. The SPS234 has support for hot-swap RAID, meaning that if a drive fails you do not need to power down the machine to replace it. This is especially important for mission critical enterprise applications such as a data store for an e-commerce system. Other availability features include support for Adaptive Fault Tolerance in the networking subsystem. AFT ensures that if the primary network interface fails, the secondary will take over automatically and transparently. The SPS234 can be upgraded to dual power supplies, meaning that even a failure in a power supply will not interrupt data processing.
