Sharq SPS440

The Sharq SPS440 is a high-performance enterprise-class SCSI-based server. Availability features such as redundant hot-swappable power supplies and hot-swap RAID capability make this an ideal server to run mission-critical Internet and enterprise applications such as e-mail, video streaming, web, CRM and ERP. Scalability and sustained high-performance are provided via support for up to four Intel ® Xeon ® processors and up to 24GB of DDR SDRAM.

Other scalability features include eight PCI expansion slots, embedded gigabit and Fast Ethernet, on-board dual channel ultra-160 SCSI and support for up to 730GB of internal SCSI storage.

Benefits of the SPS440

Performance - Supports Intel Xeon Processors at 1.6GHz with 512KB-1MB Advanced Transfer Cache and Hyper-Threading Technology. Up to 24GB of registered ECC DDR SDRAM. Five peer PCI buses providing 3GB/sec of I/O bandwidth to support gigabit ethernet, Fibre channel and other I/O intensive interconnects. These features make this server a suitable solution for CPU and memory-intensive enterprise applications such as video streaming, and enterprise resource planning.

Scalability - up to 4 Intel Xeon processors running at 1.6GHz+, Eight available PCI slots: four 64-bit/100MHz PCI-X hot-plug, two 64-bit/100MHz PCI-X non-hot-plug, and two 32-bit/33MHz non-hot-plug; and support for up to 24GB of RAM allows this particular server to scale with your application requirements. Embedded SCSI controllers and optional Fibre Channel HBA's provide options for storage scalability with offerings of up to 10TB available from Xinit.

Availability - the SPS440 ships with dual-redundant power supplies as standard. This fortifies the ability of the SPS440 to soldier on in the event of a failure in its power supply subsystem. The faulty component can be replaced without any downtime. Other availability features include a hot-swappable cooling subsystem and hot-swap support for internal storage.

Broad distribution support with the option for either Red Hat Linux, Debian GNU/Linux or SuSE Linux at the core. The 2.4 Kernel series can support up to 16 processors and 64GB of RAM with added support for a multitude of PCI expansion cards.
